Statement from APG President and CEO Don Crane on Passing of C. Duane Dauner

Washington, DC – The following is a statement by America’s Physician Groups (APG) President and CEO Donald Crane on the passing of C. Duane Dauner of Sacramento, California.

“We are deeply shocked and saddened by the sudden and tragic death of our friend, Duane Dauner. Duane was such a strong leader in California healthcare for the last three decades…we thought he would live forever. As the former President and CEO of the California Hospital Association (CHA) for over 30 years, he was a titan in American healthcare. Duane was also a mentor, advisor, and a real friend to so many of us. He really had no peers in terms of his mastery of all elements related to health policy, governance, advocacy…and humanity. We send our deepest condolences to his wife Diane, his family, and the entire CHA community. Duane will be greatly missed.”
