Dr. Michael Bota is a clinical endocrinologist and Medical Director for Population Health and Clinical Value at Physicians of Southwest Washington and MultiCare Connected Care. With over ten years of experience in healthcare leadership, he specializes in advancing value-based care initiatives across diverse provider landscapes.
In his role, Dr. Bota collaborates with his team to partner with a wide range of medical groups—from large multi-specialty practices to smaller clinics—to successfully execute value-based care agreements in both the Medicare and Commercial sectors. He specializes in effective clinical change management, guiding partners to improve quality, ensure risk adjustment accuracy, and enhance chronic disease management. His focus also extends to network recruitment and provider credentialing, alongside leading initiatives designed to reduce the total cost of care while measurably enhancing patient outcomes.
Prior to his current role, Dr. Bota served as Medical Director for Medical Specialties at MultiCare Rockwood Clinic. He holds a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science, and Technology of Târgu Mureș, Romania and an MBA with medical management concentration from University of Massachusetts Amherst.
