Ruth Chang, MD

Te-Yu Ruth Chang, MD, MPH, CPC, FAAFP, is the Vice President of Business Development and External Affairs at Northwest Permanente (NWP). Dr. Chang leads business strategy and growth for the physician-led, self-governed, multispecialty group practice, providing care to the more than 600,000 members of Kaiser Permanente in Oregon and Southwest Washington.

 

Dr. Chang is a family medicine physician. She joined NWP in 2005, and through the years has served in various leadership roles, including Physician Service Area Director for Portland Metro West, Director of Diversity and Inclusion, Care Delivery Co-Lead for Intel Connected Care, Director of Financial Health, and Chief People Officer. In addition, she spearheaded the creation of many popular courses for NWP physicians and clinicians, including Do the MATH – Managing Affordability through Technology and Heart, Art of Mentoring, and Optimize Your Practice.

 

Dr. Chang received her bachelor’s degree from Tulane University and her master’s in public health and her medical degree from the University of Michigan. She completed her residency at Oregon Health & Science University. In her free time, she enjoys studying martial arts, playing music, and cooking with family and friends.
