Alan Bier, MD

Dr. Bier graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the State University of New York at Buffalo and attended medical school at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where he also completed his Residency in Internal Medicine and Fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases.

Dr. Bier is a Fellow with the American College of Physicians, American College of Cardiology and American Society of Echocardiography.  He is a Fellow of the Council of Clinical Cardiology with the American Heart Association.

Dr. Bier has been with Sharp Rees-Stealy in the Division of Cardiology since 1989 and served as the Chief, Division of Cardiology from 1995 to 2014. This gave Dr. Bier the opportunity to represent Sharp Rees-Stealy on multiple committees for various health plans including Health Net, PacifiCare and the Sharp Health Plan.  Dr. Bier is the Founding Director of the Anticoagulation Clinic and former Chair of the Code Blue Committee.
