Tom McGinn, MD

Tom McGinn, MD, MPH is the System Executive Vice President, Physician Enterprise for CommonSpirit Health. Dr. McGinn is responsible for the executive leadership and strategic direction of the Physician Enterprise’s clinical and business operations across 21 states, including 5,800 employed providers, 1,100 ambulatory care sites and 21 Value-Based Organizations. In addition to overseeing all physician enterprise
employment models, he is accountable for advancing clinical integration and population health management, including developing strategies that facilitate physician alignment and provide fully integrated, high quality, and cost-effective health outcomes. He is a member of the CommonSpirit Health Executive Leadership Team.

As a practicing internal medicine physician, physician leader, Dr. McGinn is also a widely published clinical researcher and nationally recognized expert in evidence-based medicine. Dr. McGinn is a Professor of Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine as well as Clinical Professor of Medicine at Creighton University, School of Medicine. He previously served as the deputy physician-in-chief and senior vice president of physician network operations at Northwell Health. While there, he was also the founding chair and professor at the department of medicine at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra University/Northwell. Prior to joining Northwell, Dr. McGinn served as chief of the division of general internal medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center.

Dr. McGinn earned his bachelor’s degree from Creighton University, his medical degree from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn, and completed his residency in internal medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Bronx Municipal Hospital Center. He also received a Master of Public Health from Columbia University.
