Derek Novak, MBA, is the System Senior Vice President of Population Health at CommonSpirit Health. With more than 20 years of experience driving operational improvement in both industry and healthcare, Derek has been a leader in advancing value-based care. Previously serving as the President/CEO of CommonSpirit’s Midwest population health services organization.
In 2023, he transitioned into a national leadership role at CommonSpirit, where he leads population health strategy and execution across one of the largest nonprofit health systems. With more than 2.5 million covered lives under value-based agreements across 24 states, CommonSpirit Health is one of the nation’s largest value-based organizations, supported by a network of Clinically Integrated Networks and regional Value Hubs.
Derek holds both a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from Upper Iowa University. He is also a proud father of two.
