Diana Shiba, MD

Diana Shiba, MD was born and raised in Los Angeles and completed my undergraduate studies at Georgetown University. As a Rhodes scholar semifinalist, and after graduating summa cum laude from Georgetown, I was awarded a four-year scholarship to attend medical school at UC Davis. I earned the annual award in ophthalmology as a medical student there. I completed my ophthalmology residency training at UC San Diego, where the medical students chose me to receive the Outstanding Resident Teaching Award. I joined Kaiser full time in 2010. I am very active in advocating on behalf of my patients and colleagues, and am a member of the California Medical Association, the American Medical Association, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. I have served on two of their boards, and have received a number of awards including the 2008 AMA Foundation Excellence in Medicine Leadership Award. I also help ensure patient quality and safety as an examiner of doctors for the American Board of Ophthalmology.
