Dr. Karthik Rao is the Chief Medical Officer at agilon health. In this role, Karthik leads clinical strategy, clinical programs, and physician engagement initiatives that support education and performance across our network.
Karthik has 10+ years of experience as a practicing internal medicine physician and other roles working in value-based care. Prior to agilon health, Karthik worked at McKinsey & Company, leading a broad range of strategy and operations work across the health care value chain, with particular focus on provider groups and government organizations.
Karthik earned a medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and a BA from Johns Hopkins University. He completed an internal medicine and primary care residency at Massachusetts General Hospital. He continues to practice primary care at Beth Israel Lahey Health in Boston, MA.
