Mariella Cummings has more than 40 years of executive experience in the healthcare industry. Currently President of Results Incorporated, a healthcare-focused management consultancy, she most recently served for 16 years as Chief Executive Officer of Physicians of Southwest Washington (PSW). An Olympia-based independent physician association, PSW is an experienced accountable care organization that, under Ms. Cummings’ leadership, doubled its physician unit holders and expanded from one to three globally capitated, fully delegated Medicare Advantage (MA) contracts. Ms. Cummings served as the initial CEO and later Chair of the Board of Directors of Soundpath Health, an MA plan founded by PSW and two additional physician groups. As a former Vice President for Claims at a Midwest commercial health plan, she was appointed the consumer advocate to the board of Washington state’s high-risk health pool plan. Ms. Cummings also was a hospital CEO and served as the Director of Infectious Disease and Reproductive Health for the Washington Department of Health. She holds a BS in nursing from the University of Washington and an MS degree from the University of Arizona.
