Michael H. Shannon, MD, is an endocrinologist and Chief Medical Officer for PSW, a population health company managing commercial, Medicare and Medicare advantage contracts. In Dr. Shannon’s role at PSW he oversees clinical strategy and operations, dedicated to improving provider-patient relations, quality metrics and reductions in the total cost of care.
Dr. Shannon is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Washington, serves on the Editorial Board of Clinical Diabetes, and is the Chair of the Professional Education Committee for the Washington chapter of the American Diabetes Association. He served as the System Endocrinology Lead and Chair of the Endocrine/Diabetes Clinical Advancement Team for Providence St. Joseph Health, a 51-hospital integrated health system, from 2011-2018.
Dr. Shannon graduated from medical school at the University of California, San Diego, and went on to perform an internal medicine residency, geriatrics fellowship, and endocrinology fellowship at the University of Washington.
