Michelle Lunbeck

Michelle Lunbeck serves as the Senior Vice President of Membership for America’s Physician Groups (APG), where she leads the strategy and execution of the organization’s initiatives to grow, engage, and retain members and ensure that they are at the heart of APG’s advocacy, education, and leadership development activities.  Based near Kansas City, Missouri, and reporting directly to APG President and CEO Susan Dentzer, Michelle works nationally, engaging with physician groups, their affiliated health systems, and other APG member organizations across the country.

APG is a national association representing approximately 340 physician groups comprising nearly 260,000 physicians and other clinicians who provide care to roughly 90 million patients, or nearly one in four Americans. APG’s motto, “Taking Accountability for the Nation’s Health,” reflects its members’ commitment to delivering comprehensive, coordinated care while being held accountable for both cost and quality.

Michelle brings to her role at APG extensive prior health care and association leadership experience. She previously held multiple senior leadership roles at the Children’s Hospital Association (CHA), most recently serving as Vice President of Member Relations, Marketing, and Communications. In that role, she led enterprise-wide engagement strategies for more than 200 member hospitals and health systems and partnered closely with senior leaders to advance national initiatives and strengthen the value of membership.  She also had prior professional experience working with physician practices and ambulatory surgery centers among other health care providers.

Michelle holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Pittsburg State University in Kansas and a Master of Health Services Administration from the University of Kansas. She is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and has served in leadership roles within that organization as well.
